01: My Journey

My Story So Far

From motocross fields in Northern Ireland to the biggest stages in British motorsport: every season has been a step forward.

Peter Willis, a 17-year-old racer from Cullybackey, Northern Ireland, has just completed his final year in the R&G British Talent Cup. His journey began in motocross, spending three formative years in the Irish and Ulster Championships and finishing 4th overall in the Irish series.

He joined the Honda British Talent Cup in 2021 aged just 12. That debut season was about learning the tracks and adapting to Moto3 machinery. The seasons that followed saw real progress: multiple top-ten finishes, and a standout maiden podium at Snetterton in 2024.

2025 was the year Peter announced himself as a serious contender. Consistent top-ten results round after round were capped by a flawless ride to his maiden British Talent Cup victory at the British Grand Prix: a defining moment, on one of the sport's biggest stages. In the most competitive Talent Cup season to date, he finished a strong 7th overall.

02: The Championship

The Starting Grid

In 2026 Peter makes the move to the Pirelli British Sportbike Championship, one of the newest and most exciting support classes in the Bennetts British Superbike (BSB) paddock.

Introduced in 2024, the category bridges the gap between the lightweight feeder series and the premier Superstock and Superbike classes: a competitive, cost-effective platform for emerging riders. From 2026 the series evolves into the Pirelli British Sportbike Championship, aligning with the new World Sportbike framework.

The grid features mid-capacity twins and triples from multiple manufacturers, run to strict Balance of Performance (BoP) regulations targeting ~95 hp. Controlled ECUs and Pirelli slick tyres keep costs down while producing some of the closest, hardest-fought racing of the BSB weekend.

All machines tuned to a ~95 hp target for true parity, rewarding rider skill and team setup over raw machinery.
